Day Hikes

 Sign me up!

Designed for your group of eight or more, the day hikes are lead by guides in the Shenandoah National Park where we will spend the day on the trails of some of the most beautiful mountains on the east coast. The hikes range in difficulty from moderate to strenuous. A brief list of items to bring will be supplied, and during the hike guides will discuss how to plan a hiking trip as well as safety on the trail. Day hikes are scheduled on a weekend day and the Virginia Outdoor Center will provide transportation to and from the trail head.

Our day hike will take place in the Shenandoah National Park. We will spend five to eight hours hiking in one of the most beautiful areas in the southeast. During the hike we will discuss how to plan and prepare for a day hike as well as what to do during the hike. Natural history and geography will also be discussed to enhance the appreciation for the areas we use.  We do teach and advise hikers on backcountry Leave No Trace philosophies.

Because we will be far from any road or vehicle, each person will be required to bring a light daypack with the contents in the list below. Also each hiker is required to wear hiking boots with lug soles and good ankle support. If there are any questions about gear you plan to bring please call or stop by Outdoor Adventures on Route 3.

We will meet at the Virginia Outdoor Center (VOC) at 8:00 am (from there transportation will be provided.) We will return to the VOC around 4:00 or 5:00 PM. Call to schedule your group's trip.
