Let the light of the full moon show you the way as we hike on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This Fall hike will show you a side of the backcountry that few see. We will make it a shorter hike so that we don't watch the sun rise as well. The leaves will be gone and so will the heat. A break for hot chocolate will help ease the chill of the midnight air. Groups of eight or more call to schedule your trip.
Our midnight hike will take place in the Shenandoah National Park by the light of the full moon. We will spend five to eight hours hiking in one of the most beautiful areas in the southeast. On our midnight hikes we ask that lights be brought but only used to see into your pack or in case of emergency. Our hikes take place on the top of the mountains so that the light of the moon will be shining brightly.
Because we will be far from any road or vehicle, each person will be required to bring a light day pack with the contents in the list below. Also each hiker is required to wear hiking boots with lug soles and good ankle support. If there are any questions about gear you plan to bring, please call.
We will meet at the Virginia Outdoor Center (VOC) at 8:00 pm (from there transportation will be provided.) We will return to the VOC around 2:00 or 3:00 am.
