Your instructor and guide for your time in the valley,
or any other winter destination, will be John Garman. John began learning
the skills of mountaineering with an eight day winter seminar in 1995 on Mt. Rainer.
Since then he has spent time enduring the challenges of winter mountaineering on
routes such as the Presidential Traverse over Mt. Washington, Sargents Ridge on Mt. Shasta,
the South Side route on Mt. Hood, and numerous winter trips to nearby West
Virginia. John has honed his skills of traveling in the backcountry in the
harshest of winter weather.
You will learn form John's experience which
equipment has worked the best and the best way to use the equipment you
have. A state certified EMT and a Wilderness First
Responder, if you have ever wanted to get a taste of backcountry winter travel,
John is the perfect guide to help you experience the world of winter travel.
