Paddle time: 2 hours The newest section of the Rappahannock River due to the removal of the Embry Dam in 2004. This trip has beautiful scenery and fishing and the most challenging rapids of any of our rental trips. For experienced renters.

Our most popular day trip sections this trip is truly spectacular. Put in at our private access in the middle of the woods and paddle free from roads, bridges, or houses. Only bird above, trees beside and water and fish below. 6 miles of pool drop class I to II rapids this is the best way to get a Rappahannock river experience.

Combine our most popular trip (Hole in the wall to Motts) with our most exciting (Motts to VOC). This trip offers the best wilderness paddling with some challenging rapids near the end.

A fantastic two or three day trip takes you from the put in on the Rapidan River through gentle ledges until the confluence with the Rappahannock River. A Class II, ½ mile rock garden is also a great place to camp or any of the public camping spots along the river below here.
From the confluence to the take out you will pass through a few more Class II ledges as you pass through spectacular back country paddling. Take out on the right bank at Motts Run.

Paddle Time: 10 hours
24 Miles of paddling a gorgeous backcountry river. The public camping along this section is plentiful and the crowds are few. Pass along old dam and canal sites, see bald eagles and catch small mouth. Class I and II rapids and calm stretches make this a great two or three day trip. Take out on the right bank at Motts Run.

After you pass through the historic section behind Fredericksburg, you will get another 4 miles of wooded paddling on flat water. See bald eagles, catch fish or just enjoy being outside. This is a great beginner trip for a nice afternoon.
