Is there a weight/age limit?

There is no specific weight limit for any of our vessels, but the person needs to be able-bodied, able to swim, and safe on their feet in unsteady ground. Our age limit is 6 and older. We ask that you take inventory of the children in your group’s strengths and weaknesses and assess if they can handle the trip you are hoping to take with us. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out!

What is provided?

We provide PFDs, your chosen vessel, and paddles as needed.

I would like to take a class, how do I register for one?

We have numerous classes available. You can take a private class, or groups of 4 or more can schedule a class on a date that meets both our schedules. To register, please fill out the form on our Classes, and a VOC personnel member will reach out to get it booked.

Is there a guide for our trip?

None of our rental trips includes a guide. Many beginners take our trips and have a wonderful time. Certified guides are available for an additional fees, as available.

What if it rains before/on my reservation?

All of our trips can continue in inclement weather. If there are unsafe weather conditions, they will be discussed as they arise.

Cancellation Policy

Customers are responsible for the full cost of their booking. If you are not able to attend your reservation, for any reason, you must contact the VOC PRIOR to your reservation. We can help with rescheduling, or a manager can issue a gift card voucher code for you to rebook at your convenience.

Do I have to wear a lifejacket?

Yes. If you are on the water, whether on a paddleboard, boat, tube, or just swimming in the river, you must have a properly fitted PFD (life jacket) on.

What should I wear on my White Water tubing trip?

The only mandatory requirement is that you wear shoes that stay on your feet. This can include shoes such as tennis shoes, water sandals (Tevas/Chacos), or Crocs (in sports mode). Flip-flops or slides do not count! Outfits can vary from a swimsuit to shorts and a T-shirt. Please understand that you will be jostled as you move through the rapid systems. Your outfit should be able to handle the movement and be able to get wet.

Where do I park for my White Water Tubing reservation?

When it is your time to arrive at the VOC property for your tubing reservation, a staff member will be able to direct you to the Canal Path that you will park on.

What is the White Water Tubing route, and where will the shuttle pick us up?

For the White Water Tubing trip, you will get into the water on the VOC property and float downriver for about a mile until you get to Old Mill Park. Our shuttle service runs every hour on the half hour (11:30, 12:30, etc) and will pick you up at the roundabout in Old Mill Park.

Can I bring food/drinks/alcohol on my Whitewater tubing trip?

No. We have picnic tables on the VOC property that you are welcome to use, but no food or drinks may be taken onto the river.

I am going on a paddling trip; where do I go to pick up the shuttle?

On almost all trips, you will meet where you get off the river. Our goal is for you to leave your car at the take-out point and shuttle you upriver to the put-in, so when you get out of the river, you can get into your car and go home. This may vary based on the details of your reservation. If you are confused, please contact the VOC; we are happy to clarify any misunderstandings.
For example, if you are going on our Hole in the Wall to Motts Run trip, you will park at Motts Run Boat Launch, and the shuttle will meet you there and take you to Hole in the Wall’s boat launch.
